In early 2008, Texas Health Partners publicly announced plans to develop a hospital complex to meet the needs of rapidly growing communities in Southern Denton County. After seeking input from physicians practicing in those communities and considering many possible locations in several cities, it was decided that the new hospital would be located in The River Walk at Central Park, a development project in the Town of Flower Mound. The Flower Mound Town Council gave the green light to the development in August 2008, and Texas Health Partners began moving forward on construction.
This 182,000 acute care hospital facility opened April 30, 2010, and is equipped with the latest state of the art equipment, a full scope of diagnostic services (inpatient and outpatient), 103 beds, 12 ER rooms, 6 surgical suites, 9 PACU, and 1 cath lab. In addition, the facility received its Silver LEED NC 2.2 certification, which designated the hospital as the first official “green” hospital in North Texas. Throughout the development process, physician partners participated with Texas Health Partners in preliminary designs for the new hospital. There are 85+ physician investors committed to this partnership. Texas Health Partners was awarded the contracts for overall management oversight and revenue cycle management services.
